• Document images submitted via the camera scan feature

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Generate your personalized CarCut savings analysis
• Provide AI-powered cost reduction recommendations
• Power the chat assistant with context about your situation
• Extract data from scanned documents using AI vision processing

3. Data Storage

Your profile and analysis data is stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. We do not maintain user accounts or store your personal data on our servers. Document images submitted for scanning are processed in real-time and are not stored after extraction.

4. Third-Party Services

CarCut uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalized savings summaries and extract data from scanned documents. When you use these features, relevant data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with Anthropic's AI service as described above, solely for the purpose of providing your analysis.

6. Camera and Photo Access

The CarCut app may request access to your device's camera and photo library to scan loan statements, insurance cards, and vehicle registration documents. Photos are processed securely via our API and are never stored on our servers. Camera access is entirely optional — you can always enter information manually.

7. Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can clear your data at any time by clicking “Start Over” on the dashboard or clearing your browser's localStorage.

8. Children's Privacy

CarCut is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
